Yes. Any examiner who feels vulnerable or at risk in any way during an exam is permitted to stop the exam, politely inform the candidate that they need to leave the room, and go to get help from the steward. This may include (but is not limited to) the following scenarios:
- lack of adequate security in the venue
- volume levels exceed reasonable thresholds producing a health and safety risk
- a candidate’s behaviour is intimidating or threatening, or otherwise prevents the exam from being conducted as usual
