Graded Music Exams > Exam content / procedure
Yes.
If you are using live accompaniment in your exam, please add full details to the ‘additional scheduling notes’ when submitting your online entry so that the required arrangements may be put in place.
The accompaniment / second part may be played by your teacher or another musician, who should only be in the exam room for the relevant part of the exam. Alternatively, vocals candidates may accompany themselves.
Live accompanists are limited to a single person (ie. it is not permitted to have a full band backing). An exception is made for RSL grade book pieces specifically arranged to have more than one additional part, eg. violin duet plus piano.
